And find out how to correctly set up a multiplayer server...

I've got a couple of friends who do, though I never got around to playing it. I can ask one about the multiplayer server, if you like. For one, you need a legal copy. Which you of course have, right? :)

I play Minecraft! I've been playing it a bit too much lately. A word of advice to other players; the Creepers are forming alliances. I had one cornered and it wasn't attacking me. Then I turned around to find 5 other creepers behind me, all blowing up at once.

With regard to the server, I'm fairly certain that you just need to download Minecraft_Server.exe from here (http://www.minecraft.net/download.jsp), and run it. Then people just need to type in your IP to join.

Well, see, Cyndadile, I must've set it up incorrectly or something...because my girlfriend has Minecraft, too, and she could not connect.

Maybe we could try it out together?

I'll look into it. One of my friends owns a server, he could probably tell me something.

The one very annoying thing about Minecraft is that it doesn't work on my computer. It works fine on my laptop, though.

The squid will despawn, though.

Actually, I read on the Minecraft wiki that squid are an exception to despawning.

When you clicked on Minecraft_Server.exe, did anything pop up?

Well, to be honest, I downloaded the .jar file...the .exe didn't download correctly. I can get it to open that way, but after that, I'm clueless.

So, did it come up with the chat and players on the server?

Yes, however, I tried to connect to my own server...and then I found myself logged onto a server that wasn't mine...I was floating in the sky, for one thing. When my girlfriend tried to connect to my server, it wouldn't accept her at all.

Any ideas why?

I'll have to look into it tomorrow. I can't get on to my laptop right now. When your girlfriend went on, was the server menu thing up? If so, did it say that she was on? Also, when you were floating in the sky, was there anything anywhere beneath you, or was it just empty?

Don't remember the part with my girlfriend trying to connect much, but it was up, I know that much. I *THINK* it said that she connected...

And there were flying squid and loads of lava beneath me, but I wasn't falling at all.

Sounds like that was a chunk error. Did you try to log on again afterwords?

Onto single player, yes. Multiplayer, I gave up on that day.

Ok, if you appear in the sky next time, and land doesn't start appearing, try to log off and back on. Also, it might help if you play on a different computer then you run the server on, unless you have a really good computer.

One of my friends told me that someone created a working 16-bit computer in Minecraft. That's actually pretty awesome, I wonder how you'd do that.

I would not have the attention span to do something that big. They probably cheated to get all the stuff.
