LOTAD live in ponds and lakes, feeding on algae and other underwater plants. It is often mistaken for a lily pad floating on the water.

LOTAD are not very mobile on land and do not stray far from the water. Some LOTAD will spend their entire lives living in a single pond.

Edit for singular.

LOTAD is not very mobile on land and does not stray far from the water. Occasionally, it may spend its entire life living in a single pond.

I'm not a fan of the second sentence though. It doesn't seem that interesting to me.

LOTAD is not very mobile on land and does not stray far from the water. In order to move from pond to pond, LOTAD latches onto larger, unsuspecting POKEMON.

LOTAD is not very mobile on land and does not stray far from the pond that it lives in. The lily pad on it's head is used as a tool that absorbs nutrients from the sun.

I think a more Lotad-oriented take would deal more with rain than the sun, especially when Rain Dish is taken into consideration.

The lily on LOTAD's head reacts to rain by restoring nutrients, thereby giving it more energy. It prefers to live in wetlands and areas that have high amounts of rainfall.

Yes, but "restoring nutrients" doesn't seem correct, it's too "game logic" if you see what I mean.

The lily on LOTAD's head has enzymes that draw trace nutrients from rain, thereby giving it more energy. It prefers to live in wetlands and areas that have high amounts of rainfall.
