What CAN be revamped:
- Movesets (TMs and levelsets) - For TMs, please post the existing list even if you're making no changes, it makes my job much easier.
- Abilities
- Egg Moves (POST WITH FATHERS, PLEASE)

What CANNOT be revamped:
- Base stats

We're doing Murkrow in this topic.

Getting these out here because they're needed for the demo. We can make changes to Harskrow too, if needed.

I guess I'll put my money where my mouth is and begin with this one. This one should be simple because the only thing that really needs changing is the addition of Egg Moves. Otherwise no other changes, though if anyone would like to suggest some, feel free. We're already adding Night Vision as an ability to the line.

Murkrow actually has a pretty cool Egg Move list in RSE:

Egg Moves:

Whirlwind - (It learns this by level-up)
Drill Peck - (It learns this by level-up)
Mirror Move - Equill
Wing Attack - Equill, Fincherp
Sky Attack - Fincherp
Confuse Ray - No fathers
Featherdance - Smallard, Seraph, Engil
Perish Song - Fincherp

It didn't have Whirlwind or Drill Peck as levelup moves in RSEFRLG so we can swap those and Confuse Ray out for other things. Here's some interesting ones:

Mind Reader - Chains off of Gargoth
Imprison - Also chains off of Gargoth
Moonlight - Gargoth
Dive Bomb - Gargoth
Cosmic Power- Seraph
Magic Coat - Chains off of Seraph and Engil
Spectral Ray - Chains off of Engil

Not all of these, but there are tons of options for a witch-like Pokemon.

I like Imprison and Moonlight to replace Whirlwind and Drill Peck.

I like Dive Bomb. For some reason, I could just see a Murkrow dive bombing someone out of nowhere for absolutely no reason, then vanishing into the night sky. Hilarious and useful.

Imprison is a nice fit, and chain breeding is always cool, though I've never done so myself as there are too few chain-breedable moves. Moonlight is nice too, it fits with it's night time ventures, and general witchy qualities.

Other than those, the rest I don't care much for.

Wait, Harskrow learns Dive Bomb, I was looking at Murkrow's list.

I really like Moonlight. It seems perfect. We also need to replace Confuse Ray, or otherwise somehow make it work since there are no Flying fathers. (We might be able to add it to one of the flier's Egg Moves lists which opens up a new chain once more)

Hmm.....I can't make a solid case for any of the other moves in relation to use by a Murkrow....Why not just scrap Confuse Ray altogether, or

Also, in relation to Dive Bomb, aren't there plenty of egg moves that come from the parent for use by the child, as well as from other fathers? i.e. Pichu learning thunderbolt/thunder, I can't remember which, from something other than a Pikachu.

Yes, we can do that if we want.

I'm against the removal of drill peck. It's a considerably good flying move.

Oh, are we putting any gen 4 moves into this? Dark Pulse (sp) would work well with Murkrow since its base atk/sp atk are the same, and decent.

Triumph i was going to ask the same thing. and drill peck would be like what was said about the pichu and thunderbolt, it would be awesome having a level 10 murkrow with a good move like drill peck.

also moonlight and spectral ray are the 2 i like most from that list if drill peck is being ruled out.

Drill Peck is only being ruled out because it's evolved form learns it already, same with Whirlwind.

well yes but there are pokemon that have egg moves that are learned by either level up or another evolutionary form, it wouldn't be a first and i just think it would make murkrow quite the force to be reckoned with.

By the time you've gotten a father with Drill Peck and bred with a female Murkrow/Harskrow and gotten your level 10 Murkrow with Drill Peck, you're probably beyond the point in the game where it matters. Unless Little Cup is that important to you.

Personally, in D/P/Pt, Murkrow --> Honchkrow was one of my favorites. Mainly because of its ability to absolutely wreck anything with its attack strength, with Super Luck as the ability, with the Razor Claw as a held item. Combo that with a high-critical-hit-ratio move like Night Slash (even though it won't technically exist in Topaz), it was easily one of the strongest in my team and I almost always kept it around. I'd like to see that strength again, if at all possible.

Harskrow has cool things, albeit in a different way. Instead of trading speed for superior defenses like Honchkrow, Harskrow progresses Murkrow's offensive stats. The Night Vision ability allows it to never miss in Darkness, which Abyssus triggers for infinite periods of time with the Eclipse ability. This makes Harskrow's normally 70 accuracy Dive Bomb into a never-miss move, giving it a great 120 power STAB Flying move, as well Fire Blasts that never miss. Harskrow also has a pretty strong Special movepool, with Tempest, Umbrage, Sludgebomb, Flamethrower/Fire Blast, Psychic and Shadow Ball.

So:

Imprison
Moonlight
Mirror Move - Equill
Wing Attack - Equill, Fincherp
Sky Attack - Fincherp
Spectral Ray
Featherdance - Smallard, Seraph, Engil
Perish Song - Fincherp

?

I kind of like Magic Coat too though...

I dunno why, but I never understood Magic Coat. What exactly does it do? Reflect a Magic Type attack? i dunno. Otherwise, the egg moves seem fine.

Magic Coat reflects extra effects of attacks back to the user. So the user will be seeded (unless they're grass-type), status effects and debuffs will be reflected, etc. It doesn't reflect damage though.

Oh, I see. I never used Wobbuffet, so I didn't know XP Thanks IB!

ImmunityBow

Actually that's Mirror Coat. Wobbuffet doesn't have Magic Coat. Mirror Coat is just counter for special attacks. I remember Absol had Magic Coat, though as for others I don't remember.

Oh. That's what I thought it was at first.
