As I recall, we officialized Christina's lineup before (it's not posted on IBow's thread, so I posted it here).

Frostorm Level 40
Ability: Cold Snap
Item: None
Water Pulse
Blizzard
Shadow Ball
Explosion

Iglonia Level 40
Ability: Shell Armor
Item: None
Polarize
Icicle Whip
Iron Defense
Mirror Coat

Polarice Level 41
Ability: Thick Fat
Item: Lum Berry
Icicle Whip
Curse
Hyper Beam
Brick Break

Kunaiga Level 43
Ability: Dragon Blood
Item: Sitrus Berry
Odor Sleuth
Aerial Ace
Icicle Whip
Earthquake

Also, we did have some kind of idea what Osiro's team would be like. Something along these lines, I think:
Destado Lv. 46
Sandslash Lv. 45
Cackinge Lv. 45
Flygon Lv. 47
Khaphix Lv. 48

Movesets, items, and such will come later when I have time to assemble them.

Uber Bump.

First thing, Kunaiga can't get Dragon Blood, so its ability should be Intimidate. Second, Odor Sleuth is lame. Go with Roar or Attract imo. Other than that, I like hers.

Osiro:

Destado Level 43
Ability: Sand Stream
Item: None
Weather Ball
Explosion
Windwhistle
Fault Line

Sandslash Level 45
Ability: Sand Veil
Item: Shrapnel
Aerial Ace
Fault Line
Slash
Zig Zag

Cackinge Level 45
Ability: Sand Veil
Substitute
Focus Punch
Needle Arm
Spike Wall

Flygon Level 47
Ability: Levitate
Item: Resist Scarf
Screech
Fault Line
Flamethrower
Outrage

Khaphinx Level 48
Ability: Synchronize
Item: Sitrus Berry
Focus Sight
Fault Line
Mirror Coat
Psychic

Can Polarice get Hyper Beam at Lv. 41? That seems awfully early for something to learn that move. And Brick Break doesn't make much sense on Polarice. It only works for rock, Steel and Normal types. None of those are SE on him.

Also, shouldn't there be Genders? If Kunaiga has Attract, then it should have a specified Gender, IMO.

Yeah, I'm just pushing ideas to try and get this stuff finalized. Hyper Beam and Brick Break are both TM moves.

NyteFyre

I understand, But aside from maybe a late 50-60 level leader, I've never seen a gym use Hyper Beam. Only the Champion uses it often.

SilentSentinel

I'd probably be for changing it since Hyper Beam is pretty weak on Polarice since it's a special move if you can find a better move to replace it.

NyteFyre

Well, upon looking up his moveset, I was thinking either Icicle Spear (I think it's Physical) or Crush Claw. Or it could Shrug-Off Stall.

SilentSentinel
08-02-10, 05:07 AM
Wait, I lied. Polarice is way better in the Special Attack area. Perhaps Surf? It would help with coverage.

NyteFyre
08-02-10, 05:32 AM
True Surf could help. Eah, that would work great!

Silver
08-02-10, 04:57 PM
hold the line!
a surfin' polar bear!
i don't think that would work:(

Black Temple Gaurdian

Umm, why not? Polar bears swim don't they? *facepalm*

neon.Barnacle
08-02-10, 06:06 PM
Yes, polar bears do swim. How else would they survive in the Arctic? Surf is fine.

Silver
08-05-10, 02:02 PM
i guess
after all we jackasses would walk into the ice gym with a fire type

and ain't kaphinx a one off?
so how does osiro have one? :(

neon.Barnacle
08-05-10, 02:21 PM
Being one-off doesn't affect anything, Riolu/Lucario is one-off yet at least 2 people have them in their lineup in DPP.

Silver
08-05-10, 08:23 PM
good point
also how is it that you make me like an asshole all the time? :(

ImmunityBow

neon's just being blunt because that's generally the fastest way to get a point across. Don't take it too personally.

neon.Barnacle

Years of me being Mr. Nice Guy hasn't done anything for Topaz, which is why I'm more straightforward with my points now. Like IB said, I don't have a personal vendetta on anyone.

And really, I'm the one who looks like an asshole.

Quinn

lol. I think I'm the one that would look like an ass. I'm one of the few that actually "strongly" argue with Mods and Admin. In other words, "I can backtalk the boss if he pisses me off enough. Got decent control...but you dont wanna see me explode. I have almost many times here.
Arguing all the time here, that would be me!

*Neon. Might wanna be a bit nicer. Blunt is one thing, but I dont wanna see Ass Holes running around. At that, I also dont wanna see brown noses agreeing all the time either. We all have a voice so we should use it. Just controllable. I also think, there is at LEAST 1 person you are nicer to here. (thats personal vendeta right?). I for one have about 3. Not many though anymore. *cause my arguing

....soooooooooo back on topic here....

NyteFyre

Well, I'm just going to ignore the people's personatlities thing.

Anyway, so far, aside from the lack discussion on the topic of replacing Oder Sleuth, of we're all in agreement about the changes to Christina's Line-up,:

Frostorm Level 40
Ability: Cold Snap
Item: None
Water Pulse
Blizzard
Shadow Ball
Explosion

Iglonia Level 40
Ability: Shell Armor
Item: None
Polarize
Icicle Whip
Iron Defense
Mirror Coat

Polarice Level 41
Ability: Thick Fat
Item: Lum Berry
Icicle Whip
Curse
Surf
Brick Break

Kunaiga Level 43
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Sitrus Berry
Oder Sleuth/Roar/Attract (Still needs discussion)
Aerial Ace
Icicle Whip
Earthquake

It seems no one has offered any changes to RP's Osiro Line-up. I don't understand why you put Cackinge in there. It's Dark/Grass, right? So why is it in an apparently all Ground type gym?

SilentSentinel
08-05-10, 11:52 PM
It's there for 2 reasons: It fits with the desert theme, and covers Osiro's weakness to water. A subpunch set will threaten teams who get caught with a water type and switch out.

NyteFyre
08-05-10, 11:54 PM
Oh yeah, I see. That makes sense. And it's at a good level to have a Cackinge.

badgerdude1347

I also find that a good idea.

but for Polarice, what about dive? polar bears dive too! and surf just doesn't feel right for polarice.

Anyway, brick break is also pretty bad for an ice type. i'd say slash would be better

SilentSentinel
08-12-10, 12:00 AM
Dive is a crappy move though. Surf takes advantage of Polarice's high Special Attack and has more base power. Brick Break provides better SE coverage than the Normal type Slash, and goes through screens.

ImmunityBow
08-12-10, 03:33 AM
Actually, if you read Polarice's Pokedex entry, Surf is perfectly justified:

Polarice: Though POLARICE is an excellent swimmer, it prefers to ride on small icebergs to travel across water. This allows it to catch fish without frightening them away.

badgerdude1347

I still think that an Special Ice type move would be better than surf. also, I have NEVER seen an HM move used in a gym. how about Ice Beam, or Aurora beam, or blizzard for pete's sake!

anyway i'd say that attract is the only good move for Kunaiga, since if Kunaiga is the last to be sent out, then Roar is completely usless. Agility would be good so it could nail anyone first with earthquake or icicle whip.

neon.Barnacle
08-14-10, 01:32 AM
I still think Surf is fine, but badgerdude does bring up a good point. The Pokedex entry says that Polarice has 60 Attack and 110 Sp. Attack, so why is Icicle Whip there instead of Ice Beam/Blizzard? I get that it's a TM move that the gym leader gives out, but Iglonia and Kunaiga already have them, no need to nerf Polarice just for that.

Out of the three options for Kunaiga, Roar seems like the best one. Odor Sleuth is practically useless, and Attract doesn't make sense on him at all. Roar is a good annoyance move, if nothing else, especially when it manages to drag out one of your HM slaves.

ImmunityBow
08-14-10, 01:54 AM
I'm pretty sure Wallace had a Pokemon with Dive.

NyteFyre
08-14-10, 02:04 AM
Roar works for Kunaiga, and yeah, I don't think Polarice needs Icicle Whip. Ice Beam anyone?

Silver
08-14-10, 02:05 AM
I'm pretty sure Wallace had a Pokemon with Dive.

Silver

SilentSentinel
09-29-10, 02:55 AM
Roar works for Kunaiga, and yeah, I don't think Polarice needs Icicle Whip. Ice Beam anyone?

I agree with this myself.

Betatmw
09-29-10, 05:26 PM
Me too, it would make more sense to do it this way and giving Polarice Ice Beam could make the gym a little more difficult so it's not a straight through first attempt situation.

So I wanna clear some things up here before i try to add anything that might be completely stupid.
What kind of move sets are we looking for exactly?
Are we going for competitive battling? Traditional? or something else entirely?
I just wanna know so i can understand what you all want better so that i can give out suggestions that would be better than what i might put down without knowing what ya'll want...

Zenith
10-02-10, 06:37 AM
Mostly traditional CPU stuff. I wouldn't mind making them more competitive in the rematches, though...

And a lot of these lineups are probably gonna get thrown out the window or at least heavily edited anyway, if we're going with the 12 Gym Leader idea.

Reliability
10-02-10, 02:32 PM
It won't actually be that bad actually. From the way it looks, the order will be:
Froy
Therma
Fernando
The 6 Kirant gym leaders in some order
Gerad
Christina
Osiro

Essentially, it just means we have to do a little tweaking with levels and such, but most of the stronger and weaker ones can probably stay pretty much the way they are.

tigerft1
03-12-11, 07:36 PM
What about for osiro's team:
Destado:Lv.47
Flygon lv.47 Khapix Lv. 50
cackinge lv.45

I think it should be more of a challenge. I'm new so don't blame me for doing something wrong.

Have you seen the teams that have been suggested already? (http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/showthread.php?888-Gym-Leader-Info-and-Discussion) Just making sure you are aware of them. They should be on the 16th post of that thread.

Thanks you are a lifesaver. I'm new so I don't know this stuff.
