ehh, not sure how this turned out, but i figured i'd put a thread for whatever shiny topazmon i make, and to get feedback from the Topaz community! I'll also place the original sprite next to it, for comparison
Anyway, i got one done so far, more will be added i assure you.
unfortunately, this one didn't transparent...bleh...

You probably should get a list of what's been done before you start. I'm working on a system to get everything more organized and accessible for contributors/staff but for now, ask IB or check the thread (http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/showthread.php?406-need-someone-to-take-a-look-at-this-and-format-it-(list-of-stuff-for-demo)) about the demo.
Edit: Disregard that, just saw the other thread. For anybody else who wants to know:
(You can do any you want.) We'll just choose the ones we like best at the end (a good idea has been to put a red nose on Caribrisk). We're not implementing them for the demo, so there's no hurry.

I already answered the question in the "Questions" topic, zero.
Just about everyone on the internet can do a shiny, and so all Pokemon are open to being shinied, even ones that already have one. In the end, the favourites will be voted upon but I don't see any need for this to be organized at all. Just do them if you feel like it. The rest will be filled in as necessary.

well, i just looked up their official dex entries, in the completed dex info section, copied the image, and pasted it into paint...

I'm not a fan of the anti-right click myself. Either View Source (Ctrl+U on Chrome/Firefox) and find the links to the images or save the page (Ctrl+S) and it will have a folder with all the images along with the saved page.
Worthless script really, too easy to get around.

I like the colors you chose, it seems to work well with the pokemon. I might try some more severe change, though, to see how it looks.
@Zero: Do you know the script for anti-right click? I'm trying to make a website by stealing-I mean borrowing-scripts from other sites (kinda like reverse engineering).

Since you're a contributor, you can get them directly from the Photobucket account.
I use Mozilla, and what I do is just drag the image up to my address bar, which gives me a direct link.

Zantilidae (is that really how you spell it? anyway...) needs some work. The dark grey is too dark and makes thw whole thing blocky. Also, the outlines are inconsistent, I think they might be too light in some places.
On Dionare the arm colour and the new body colour clash a bit. I would suggest at least changing one of the two to something that isn't a shade of green, as it would make it partly a new colour scheme instead of just the colour reversal. If you made the arms a warmer colour, that might look cool.

well for one...u might wanna brighten the eyes a slight bit, &/or go a slight bit more grey(not too much though) Also, shouldn't the horn be black? its white, and the face is white, so if the face is black, shouldn't the horn (I dont know if that would look good or not)

Mirust, coupla different tassel options; obviously I'll do Ferrian with whichever color is preferred, so would be nice to get that hashed out now. (will save somewhere other than iaza once a decision's made)

I'm glad there's some experienced recolour/splicers here, because personally I don't tend to touch that area of spriting. Probably ego or something. Mirust looks nice: the ghosty part looks great in gray and I like the blue tassels better.

Additionally, NyteFyre, it looks like you cut the top of Dionare's nose off.
Personally I like the orange-tasseled mirust better, but they both look great, XTS. Seraph looks nice as well.

This (as well as Kuranpu) is a difficult pokemon to make a shiny for. I like the idea of a color reversal, but as mentioned above, it would be easier to distinguish features with a lighter shade of black which would allow for more contrast in the features. Another option would be to use different colors, such as gold and silver (my plan for Kuranpu) or any combination of light-and-dark-ish colors. It is a very good recolor, but I definitly think the face needs to be easier to distinguish.

Zantilidae: Is that the colors of shiny Zangoose? As I believe he is an evolution of Zangoose, they should (in my opinion) be similar. Other than that, if it is similar, I just think the dark gray needs to be lighter or the light gray darker.
Mirust: I prefer blue tassils.

I agree. That being said, idk if he was saying u should or not, but a silver and gold would probably look much better. (Just my though) Or if not that, try to mix and match different color styles.

Nyte, the biggest problem with your Zantilidae is that the shades of each color are way too different. You need a bit less darkening throughout each color. Plus you colored all the black outline gray, and that should never be done. Dionare is better, but there's still a bit too much difference in the shades.

In the end, it may come down to which fits well with Kuranpu also. All the options so far look great on Unicrown, and while I beleive they are not related, I think it might be best to keep it similar. Just a thought.

Anyway i like the the one with the white torso and black legs, but maybe with a black horn. Or better yet the blue/white one but make the white black and switch the colors so the upper half is blue and the lower half it black, that would look pretty awesome

@ZaCarrot: Was not thinking about replying in the same language, was just in a Spanish-speaking mood. According to Google Translate, it's both. The only difference is the accent over the "a". Spanish: fantástico/ Italian: fantastico.

well, it helps to separate them into 2 images, and i'd say you need to recolour more than just the face and the stripes, though i do like the Blue one.

Nyte, your sprite has no outline and the eyes are hard to see.

Attached is a folder with every front sprite we have, so you don't have to go through any shenanigans to obtain the sprites. This will be especially relevant as zeroality implements a no-stealing script that is less easy to bypass but allows right-clicking on the site.

Don't worry, practice makes perfect! While I generally don't recommend spriting guides to budding spriters since they really kill you on the scratching aspect, you might want to learn a few recolouring tricks here (http://www.dragonflycave.com/recoloring.aspx). Please take all these tips at face value since everyone really has their own way of spriting.

Sadly my first recolor with the click-and-drag technique. Never knew how to do it before, had to go through pixel-by-pixel and it took forever. This way took a little getting used to, but it was a lot faster and a lot more efficient. Anyway, there's Phantasomo - wanted my first try with the new thing to be a simple one, and I used a color scheme I'd come up with for it a while back.

thanks. Yah, I wanted a unicrown with a HG SS feel to it, but idk about it. I am proud of the grass starters though...and as for Gypseer *to everyone*, I believe, even if mine doesn't make it, that shiny psychic power is awesome blue. (My reasoning...)

It never hurts to ask though. I'm glad to see good progress going with the shinies and would like to see some that others haven't made yet. I've seen Unicrown several times already.

I like the 'Iceman' look that Arachmare has going there but the Spidream doesn't match.

The only reason they don't match is because Spidream's shades of color are much darker than Arachmare's, so I just went with that.

Did a few shinies.
When I did the blue Pythang, there wasn't one done already, so you might as well ignore it ^_^
They're all in one image and stuff and I should've saved it as PNG, I know, but you can still see the Pokemon.

Nimbolt. He was fun to do. He looks like this tough thing as is, but I wanted to give him the look of the "I'm going to just MURDER your ass, and there is nothing you can do about it". I'm like the only one posting stuff anymore lol I want some feedback.
K, as some background to these three bugs, THEY WERE NOT FUN!!!! I spent 6 hrs to finally come up with a decent color for them (I think) I tried green, orange, darker, lighter, etc... I wanted to stay away from blue since that is most of the time used for flames. I took 2 hrs each night and finally got something. (I have a life, but not much)

I'm going to start a few of the threads tonight. As I can only do 10 options at a time, I'm going to have to do the polls for each Pokemon separately. I'll be putting the number and name of the Pokemon in the title and adding all sprites suggested so far for them. I'm not going in any particular order, but I will revise the poll if more are submitted for each.
I saved all of them to my computer up about halfway through the thread. There are just too many. I'll save the ones we decide on, at least, or I can go through and save all of them at a later date, if you really need me to.

You may want to start narrowing down your sprites to the ones you like best as we may not be able to include 5 sprites from the same person in a single poll. Others have to be considered as well.

That's why I said "may not be able to" because if it goes over 10 then duplicate sprites will be the first to be cut out, in interest of fairness to all users.

I know what you mean zero, but the reasons why I've been doing this, is I haven't seen many of some of them. I dont wanna sound mouthy at all, but if there is less than ten with everyone, I think I should be able to enter more than one. U know? And also, when they are fun sprites, I get carried away...I also just dont wanna see em go to waist. *looks at my tellure and leoracle* (Im fine about that loss now, I was kinda sad, but oh well :) I just am scared of it happening again. )

As I said in another post somewhere, we will allow multiple submissions per person but if the choices are more than 10 then multiple sprites will be the first to get cut to make room for everybody's sprite(s).

Dont the colors on the one below look familiar? They should be. I took both shiny and normal leafeon sprites and used there colors. I started with the shinies leafs and the normals body. I then took the normal leaves and shiny body and put them in at around 35-45 opacity so it would have a slight diff.

I would have put Engil and Benengil up, though I'm trying to find a good color for Engil's belly. I dont want it purple like it normally the change would come up as. So I'll have those for sure tommorow.

Eh, gray is already there throughout and purple doesn't mesh well with red. I may try different purples to see if I can find something that'll work, though. In the meantime;

Good luck...it it tough. Though I say that, there are some really fun ones, like my "RAINBOW OF NIMBOLTS". That does remind me, to save some time, dont make ones that have "won" the polls. Tellure and Leoracle ;)

I wasn't too happy with my Kunaiga & Allufang (I got the likings to XTS's too...I just saw it.)

Like I said when I made him, he is alot harder than you think. That being said, I heard someone wanted a blue one, u could change it to that, or if u dont wanna do much anything to it, you could change pyreign's eyes to be blue like firants.
(is actually Seviper purple, but that's beside the point)

Idk why, but the eyes are slightly hard to see for the Ampure line. The Firrel line looks good though, except u may wanna darken the Final ev's eye color a bit more.

....I don't know when these guys became patriotic. Originally they were supposed to be all-pink, but that failed hard. Ended up with red and white, blue was the only color I could find to slot in the secondary brown, at least without reverting back to the gray that I've already abused plenty already. It still looks good, I suppose, though maybe a sky blue might work better.

Spidream line is giving me even worse fits (Arachmare has SIX yellow and greens, which means I'll have to either add in new shades to the colors I'm changing them to, or remove some shades to simplify it); there's just something about the Bug-types in this Dex....I'll get back to this in a bit, once I decide where I'm gonna go with Arachmare.

One of the best things about Novoni's sprites is that while they're boldly coloured and exuberant, they're very clean and simple colour and shading-wise. BT seemed to have had a preference for more shades so that's probably why older sprites such as Arachmare and Jalsida have so many shades and colours.

I was trying to vibe up the brown a bit, and also, I noticed with his tail, it is still "ice crystals", so I think they should stay a blueish color (though different than original)

Since I'm part of the job now, I'm gonna forwarn everyone. If you wanna put a Grific in the poll, make it tonight. I'm gonna make it tommorow, but if you want one, get one done. Voting threads maybe. The cemetery is really for things that would clutter up an otherwise clean forum, not just for things that are simply done and over with.
