If you've seen them before, you may know that the city descriptions are very outdated, since I remember them from when I joined several years ago. Since so much has changed, and we're re-doing the site anyway, I figure now is a good time to update.

I've gone through the old ones and made changes as I think they needed to be changed. The old versions I've kept for reference, and placed inside a quote directly after my updated version. If there is only version in the spoiler, it means that I did not change the original version.

Please comment on any ideas you think go too far or you simply don't like. This is also a chance for spelling and grammar freaks to go to town as well. If you want to propose ideas as well, that's fine too.
If I wasn't sure if we wanted to keep something or not (ie. the Bank, the Ancient Temple-thing ect.) I left it in. If I took out something that ought to be left it, please also say so.

AQAUAPOLIS
Aquapolis City isn't very popular due to the fact that it is built inside an underwater dome. To get to the town, you will need to use the Dive HM on a spot in Route 217. It will take you through a short passage that leads to the dome's entrance. However, it does house a few people - most prominently a man who gives out deep sea treasures in exchange for items.
Gym Leader: Layla
Layla has lived in the dark world under the water her entire life. Having never seen real light uninhibited by the deep water, Layla has turned to darkness to give her strength. Her power is formidable, and many trainers never make it past her intimidating reputation as the strongest trainer in the region.

Stardust: Sun Stone
Star Piece: Deep Sea Tooth
Pearl: Moon Stone
Big Pearl: Deep Sea Scale
The town also has a cave in the back, which is where Lugia will appear after defeating the Elite Four. To get to the town, you will need to use the Dive HM on a spot in Route 217. It will take you through a short passage that leads to the dome's entrance.

CETACEA
Cetacea is a small town; the PokéMart doesn't even sell Poke Balls. However, it does have a Calming Center, where, for a small price, you can increase your Pokémon's affection towards you. Though the city itself has very little notoriety, it is home to many of the fisherman that work in Icthyes, creating an unfortunate link between the two cities that are so different. Orion Defenders are often seen around the city, making many believe that their base is somewhere in the area, hidden within Cetacea.

Since Cetacea Town opposes their neighbor's fishing business, it's no surprise that the Orion Defenders have a base here. The Orion Defenders care about the environment and all that's in it. Their eventual dream is to end the era of humans' dependence on Pokémon.

However, it does have many friendship raising items and there's a Calming Center, which is similar to a Pokemon Center but for a small price, you can increase your Pokemon's affection towards you. In one of two cities, the player will have to choose sides; either siding with the Rockets in Icthyes or the Defenders in Cetacea.

CIANWOOD
"A port surrounded by rough seas," Cianwood is situated right on the eastern edge of Kirant and is technically part of neighboring Johto. It is home to an excellent Pharmacy and a Pokémon seer.
Gym Leader: Chuck
An intimidating man, specializing in the Fighting type. He claims his Pokemon "will crush stones and shatter bones." His wife thinks he's becoming a bit flabby. Though he is not a gym leader of the Caldera/Kirant Pokémon League, Chuck is always accepting challengers that want to test their strength against his.

COLOSSUS
The largest city on the continent, Colossus City is an industrial powerhouse. Home to factories and an enormous amount of crime, it is often looked down upon because it so terribly clashes with the nature-driven cities that dominate Caldera. However, this has not curbed the production of more and more manufactured goods that it ships out for massive profit. There are vague rumours that Team Rocket has its hand in this rapid development.

It is also home to the Battle Tower, Battle Factory and the Department Store.

CRANEWING
Cranewing City is a small and peaceful city that seeks balance and serenity in life. It is home to master origami and charcoal makers, and is one of the world's best exporters of glass, made from the soot collected in Chartree Forest. Its thriving economy has also brought it the region's first and only Bank.
Gym Leader: Froy
A hotheaded young man who believes that fire is an instrument used to balance the world's powers... as well as to make exquisite glass. He runs his gym the same way he runs the glass industry: no nonsense, everything flawless.

DYNAMO
Dynamo Gardens uses a complicated system of turbines and magnets to create an electromagnetic repulsion field, lifting the city off the ground. It is the home of the Ancient Temple and the Safari Zone. The Safari Zone and the city are made up of a series of floating islands that can be accessed by cable car. The residents remain aloof in their isolation in the sky, and have heard nothing of the conflict that is raging in the world below.
Gym leader: Gerad
A master engineer, his gym is a work of mechanical art, melding the most powerful and intricate of technologies. He powers the gym with his own Pokémon's electrical power, making them stronger in the process. Though his high energy sometimes causes him to divide his attention between multiple projects, his battle focus is one of the keenest in the region.

A floating city, using a complicated system of turbines and magnets to create an electromagnetic repulsion field. It is the home of the Ancient Temple and the Safari Zone. It is divided into three layers: the City Layer, the Garden/Safari layer and the Upper Layer - where the gym and the Temple entrance are. The temple goes through all three layers. The Upper layer boasts the Battle Dome as well.
Gym leader: Gerad
A master engineer, his gym is a work of mechanical art, melding the most powerful and intricate of technologies with the workability of a gym. This gives him a nigh impenetrable fortress. He powers the gym with his own Pokémon's electrical power, training them and powering the gym in the same process.

ENECHESTRA
Enechestra City is a beautiful seaside city known for its exquisite rock formations and rolling beaches. The city is a popular destination for retirees, but also nurtures a bustling tourist industry. Its bay remains empty of merchant ships, preferring to leave the waters open and fresh for recreation.
Gym leader: Cyrs
Crys leads his city, protecting the people and the natural beauty from outside forces. Though he does not wish to see his city die, he regrets letting tourism blossom so strongly, and hopes that there won’t be an irreversible cost to be paid by the natural world.

Enechestra City is Kirant's other main entrance and is somewhat of a tourist trap. Its beautiful beaches are lined with valuable shells. The local merchants sell many goods made from these shells.
The Team Rocket grunts will be here - attempting to steal a Suicune from a rich man in town but are stopped by a new organization, the Orion Defenders. The media will swarm around the scene of the crime, blocking off the port so you'll have to delve into a subplot instead of resuming the main one. The rich man will sell the Suicune to you for 500,000 after the Elite Four.

GALLEA
Gallea is one of Kirant's two major ports so it frequently ships large amounts of cargo to Portwind which is to the southwest. Gallea City is where most ships in Kirant are built - thus most of the beach is taken up by ships and docks. It has a few large buildings, and plans are already underway for building more.
Gym leader: Bella
A master of poison, Bella sees dirt and grime of Colossus City and is worried about Gallea heading down the same path. She actively fights against the push by the city to develop further and tries to manage the pollution that is produced as best she can. Bella also has a bitter rivalry with the leader of the gym in Kalypso City, for reasons that nobody seems to know.

It has a few large buildings - most importantly, the Hyper-rank Contest Hall. In addition to the contest ribbon, a second prize, which is the HM03, is also given to the winner.

HOLLOWLOG
In the middle of Abaddon Swamp, by the sea, lies a large thoroughfare full of commuters who live in Caldera yet work in Kirant. The people have grown large vines to take them up and down the large log in which the city is built, and is well known as an excellent fishing spot. The Cycling Road leads south across the sea.

It also has the Cycling Road leading south and it is very well known for an excellent fishing spot.
Gym Leader: Mandy
A quiet but adventurous and responsible girl who loves wildlife and has tamed the dangerous bug Pokemon that occupy much of the swamp that she lives in. A conservative trainer, she cripples her opponent's Pokémon with various status moves and stalls them to sure defeat.

ICTHYES
A fishing town, Icthyes City is known for its fishermen, who catch Corphish in the bay. These are cooked and sold as a delicacy, most commonly at a restaurant in town called the Orange Treecko. A city of casinos and shady luxury, many people have speculated that Team Rocket has its main base here, hidden among the neon signs and the stink of fish.

Another port town - Icthyes City is filled with fishermen who catch Magikarp in the bay, which is returned to town to be processed and sold as a delicacy. It is most commonly served at a restaurant in town called the Orange Treecko.
Team Rocket has a base here - where they alter the Magikarp caught in the bay to evolve into Gyarados, which they sell in their casinos here and in Colossus City for large amounts of coins.

KALYPSO
Kalypso City is right across from Hollowlog via Cycling Road, so it tends to give trainers a warm welcome into Kirant. Its open air market is filled with music and abounding joy, which some say causes them to spend too much.
Gym Leader: Jane
Once a great dancer, Jane gave it up to follow her other dream of becoming a stronger Pokémon trainer. She fights with a delicate grace that hides her inner ferocity. Jane also has a vicious rivalry with the gym leader of Gallea City, whom she has not seen nor spoken to for several years.

Kalypso City is well known for its music and as it is right across from Hollowlog via Cycling Road, it tends to give trainers a warm welcome into Kirant. It has a Contest Hall for Normal-rank competitions as well as an open-air market.
It also has a grand Concert Hall, where a few Move Tutors will teach sound-based moves.

LAYSAN
Laysan Town has near a complete monopoly on one market: berries. The soil here is strangely fertile, often attributed to special minerals in the soil. Many different varieties of berries can be bought here, but some of the better ones come at outrageous prices. As you obtain more badges, they stock more powerful berries.

Laysan Town is much smaller than Kalypso City and is mostly just a few patches of grass and a couple of shops. However, it does corner one market: Berries.
At Laysan City, you can buy most berries but some of the better ones come at outrageous prices. As you obtain more badges, they stock more powerful berries. They also have a Super Rank Contest Hall to help move stock.

MISTVALE
Ever foggy due to the active geothermal vents from nearby Mt. Mist, Mistvale's residents know all about keeping out of sight and in the shadows. Rich with history, Mistvale City has been home to the most ancient line of ninja in the world, and almost everyone has been trained in self-defense. They guard the entrance to Mt. Mist, and the secret things that are said to be off limits to outsiders.

Gym Leader: Hanzo
A prodigy of the ninja clans residing in Mistvale, he has dedicated his life to perfecting his ninja technique. He believes that debilitating and destroying your foes from within is key to victory and with his Poison-type Pokemon, he has become adept at doing just that.

NEO BAY
Neo Bay is a small island right on the coast. It is a small and peaceful fishing community, built in balance and harmony with the environment and Pokémon around it. It is here that three friends and one stranger will begin their journeys and find their destinies. Recently, it has also become the home of the reclusive but eminent Professor Willow.

OLIVINE
Olivine is a large port on the eastern edge of Caldera, but technically part of the Johto region. The city has been made famouns by its Ampharos-lit Lighthouse. Olivine City is an attraction for tourists and trainers alike.
Gym Leader: Jasmine
"The steel-clad defense girl," Jasmine specializes in the Steel type. She is very shy and often has trouble speaking but is very compassionate. Her Ampharos lights the Olivine Lighthouse. She often makes the long journey to Portwind City to visit her friend, Tristan.

POTRWIND
Portwind is a port city, but is much smaller than its shipping partner, Gallea. To make itself stand out from all the other port cities of the area, Portwind has been making its entire city more beautiful, including the construction of its recently finished lighthouse, sister to the one in Olivine. Almost ready to open, and desperately needed by ship captains, Portwind needs only to find a Pokémon to represent the city and be the light of the lighthouse.
Gym Leader: Tristan
Tristan has overseen the transformation of the city and, with assistance from Jasmine of Olivine, has been the leader in a search for a Pokémon for the new lighthouse. A master of Light himself, Tristan’s own Pokémon have been providing their services in the interim, but their work has made them too tired to battle in the daytime, and the gym has had to run for a very short period, much to the dismay of trainers and Tristan himself.

A city similar to Gallea in that it has a large port. However, it's a bit smaller than Gallea City. The Portwind Shipping Co. HQ is located here.

ROOTHAVEN
Roothaven is built among the roots of an enormous tree, which provides food for its carefree citizens. It is a spiritual gathering spot where people come to admire and appreciate nature. The Labyrinth allows trainers to have fun solving puzzles and competing with others for rewards. A tunnel is currently being built in the south to connect Roothaven and Saharan City, but it doesn't seem like it will be done any time soon.
Gym leader: Fernando
Said to be one of the most powerful Gym Leaders in the land, not because of his Pokémon's strength but rather because of the skill in which he uses them. He has an almost psychic connection to the flora and fauna of the Forests and he uses Grass-type Pokémon as a tribute and an acknowledgement of this gift.

SAHARAN
An oasis in the middle of the Eye of Sand, Saharan is a large and populous city. It is the home of the great Library and the most powerful gym on the mainland.
Gym Leader: Osiro

SEDCINI
Sedcini City is well hidden in the middle of the mountains of western Kirant. The people in town say that a legendary Dragon-type Pokémon created the cave that leads into the city. Concerned that their city is now where the dragon hoped to make its nest, the residents fear the return of the beast, and have raised their own dragons in the mountains for a battle that may never come.
Gym Leader: Wolfe
Descended from a hero of ancient lore who defeated a great dragon, Wolfe is the strongest of the trainers in Sedcini. His dragon Pokémon are ruthlessly powerful and do not hold back, even on beginning trainers. Wolfe regularly lets his Pokémon loose on the village, to prepare the residents in case of attack.

Sedcini City is well hidden in the middle of the mountains of western Kirant. In order to get around the city, you must walk through a cave that spans the length of the city. The people in town say that a rare Fire-type Pokemon melted the rock which created the cave. The Rocket vs Orion plot ends here as well.
The Pokemon that melted the rock turns out to be Entei. If you join the Rockets then you have to defeat the Defenders in the cave and catch it. When you try to give it to the Rocket leader it runs away.
If you chose the Defenders then you must stop the Rockets and let Entei escape the cave. Regardless of your choice, the other team will disappear and your team will take control of Kirant. Of course, that doesn't stop Team Rocket from appearing in Caldera...
Entei will return after the Elite Four and you'll get to keep it next time. There's also some people in the city who love to collect held items. You can trade a held item and choose from a selection of other held items.

SKOBELOFF
Skobeloff town is a small and cold city, the sole bastion of civilization in the harsh and dangerous mountains. It's a sleepy little burg, home to the Hot Springs and the Mt. Frost Shrine... and not much else.
Gym Leader: Christina
Cold, calculating and somewhat cruel, Christina has been up to some shady dealings as of late and rumours link her to some very dangerous crime syndicates, including the infamous Team Rocket. She has also, in the past, been associated with the leader of the Orion Defenders. This has caused this city fear of attack from both sides, even with their city perched so far away from the conflict.

SOFTWIND

Bordering at the edge of the Chartree Forest, this is a prosperous town that has constructed large towers in honor of its protectors. Legends speak of three birds of incredible power that used to roost in this town but all have left now, leaving only stories behind.
Gym Leader: Therma
A lady with a passion for literature and history, she is wise and has led the city to cherish their heritage as well as care for the needy orphans of the region. She is stern and merciless in battle, using Flying-types to strike or inhibit her foes before they can move.

SUNSET
Sunset Village is a sleepy place, remaining relatively unknown with very little traffic through the area. Its few residents are mostly old couples, whose children have gone off to become Pokémon trainers. Its PokéMart occasionally runs special sales.

Sunset Village is a sleepy place - it and nearby Neo Bay are relatively unknown due to a lack of Gyms. Its few residents are mostly old couples, whose children have gone off to become Pokémon trainers. In particular, these are the parents from R/S/E and FR/LG.
It does, however, boast a PokeMart that runs special sales every once in a while where they sell special balls such as the Nest and Premier Balls.

TRIUMPH SPIRE
Home to Victory Road and the Northern Pokémon League, the Triumph Spire is an intimidating tower rising out of the ocean. Built out of a rock spire, it is the culmination of the powers of man and the might of nature. It is a symbol to all of the people of the continent and has been described as ‘an archipelago of glory’.

Good. I have only one problem:

Icthyes: We don't have magikarp. Should we change that to corpfish/remoraid?

I'll let someone else deal with grammar and spelling.

Corphish's dex entry specifically refers to being farmed for eating purposes, so it would be a good match.

Well with the Repository I gave out access to almost everybody but nobody could seem to understand how to do things or didn't have the motivation to, so it will just be IB, Reli, and myself with access this time around.

Updated city pages with new stuff. Also did minor corrections, but didn't keep track of them. I should've, sorry.

It was stuff like putting in a comma, changing dragon Pokemon to Dragon Pokemon, or changing rumour to rumor. Nothing major. I guess you'll need to go and copy/paste what is on the site if you want the updated text.

rumour. colour. Things have "u"s in them. Bad lazy amaricans. You with you spell how it sorta sounds and your Stimulation spelt with "z"s (LASER is an acrynome, so it's laser, not lazer).

*Ehem* The 's' is for "Ztimulated", thank you very much. I like the u's in words, it makes it seem more sophisticated.

Most of our page views are from Americans anyway, so American spelling is probably the way to go.

And we aren't using lasers as far as I know, so that bit isn't an issue.

Don't forget armour. As for American/English spelling (they are becoming two different languages) I could go either way. It is definitely laser though.

All jokes aside, yes. It has to be laser if we don't want to insult intelligent players.

LASER RADIATION---kinda redundant do you think?
anyway there are differences between US English and UK English but it doesn't really matter now anyway due to internet across the globe....
now compare US & UK English to Australian English then you have different languages....
btw i'm american so color, laser, rumor, etc....
:)

i also think we should get back on topic before we royally mess things up...
so are there gonna be anymore changes to the city info?

No one has said anything, and they've been sitting on the site, so I'll say no. If anyone ends up seeing something, they'll post it here.

Hopefully no one will bump it without a good reason, so it can stay open.

If you're changing rumor to rumour, and armour to armor, make sure to change defence to defense.

Hopefully no one will bump it without a good reason, so it can stay open.

Ah, hopefully this'll be a good enough reason.
