KOFFINGs body is filled with toxic gas that helps it to stay inflated. Scientists say that these POKEMON are actually helping the ecosystem by ridding the air of dangerous gases that can harm trees and other organic life.

KOFFING absorbs toxic gasses from the air to keep itself inflated. Because it releases these gasses in the same form, whether KOFFING is a benefit or hindrance to the environment is heavily debated.

I like yours a lot, Reli. Was going to try one, but I can't think of any ideas of my own...

Length is an issue here.

Ah, then I would go with your reduction, IB. Though could we remove the "whether" in the second sentence?

Whether made no sense, so I'm with that - although gases is the proper spelling, not gasses.

Yeah, the whether should actually be removed, it doesn't make sense without two options. As such:

Koffing: KOFFING absorbs toxic gasses from the air to keep itself inflated. Since it releases these gasses in the same form, KOFFING's effect on the environment is heavily debated.
