although you might want to red circles and the ear, iit just dosen't feel right for some reason, sorry
A lot of the black outlines look really heavy (ex. back leg) because the bits they're outlining aren't all that dark themselves. But otherwise, it's good. Simple, but it gets the job done.
(This is completely artistic and optional) I would have made the red bits a little thicker. On Umbreon, because the markings were lighter than the body, they looked larger because of the contrast. Because you reversed the light and dark, the red looks smaller and a little skimpy.
OR, even better, if you make markings that are more Absol-esque in the same places. What I mean is based on the shapes that Absol has (its tail and head thing), try to mimic that. That way, it removes itself a little more from Umbreon and a little more towards a unique-looking Pokemon.
it's a really awesome idea you have flowing, but the face, with the ear, and that gem show too much that you borrowed from Umbreon's sprite, and it looks odd to have one ear easily seen, and then no ear on the other side, only the horn. I would also change the eye shape some, it looks odd for a pre-vo of Absol.
I dunno, and as for the "gem" well...

a practical thing is that an animal in real life doesn't LOOSE a ear when it grows, sorry it just doesn't sit right with the ear...
