    Default Revamp: Grimer -> Muk

    What CAN be revamped:
    - Movesets (TMs and levelsets) - For TMs, please post the existing list even if you're making no changes, it makes my job much easier.
    - Abilities
    - Egg Moves (POST WITH FATHERS, PLEASE)

    What CANNOT be revamped:
    - Base stats

We're doing Grimer -> Muk in this topic.
We're starting from scratch with this one and the next (Koffing Line).

I thought we did this one before, but I guess not. Been about 3-4 years since we started it. Anyway, I'm officially back now, and hope to stay with the program at least for awhile.

Anyway, I'm thinking something like this for Movesets:
    01/01 Pound
    01/01 Poison Gas
    04/01 Harden
    08/08 Disable
    13/13 Sludge
    19/19 Minimize
    26/26 Screech
    34/34 Acid Armor
    43/47 Sludge Bomb
    53/55 Venom Strike
    --/66 Ambush
    64/77 Memento
Let's be honest; there aren't very many new moves that a Poison-type can take advantage of in this game.

Anyway, the TM list: (*Muk Only)
    01 Focus Punch*
    06 Toxic
    10 Hidden Power
    11 Sunny Day
    12 Taunt
    15 Hyper Beam*
    17 Protect
    18 Rain Dance
    19 Giga Drain
    21 Frustration
    24 Thunderbolt
    25 Thunder
    27 Return
    28 Dig
    31 Brick Break*
    32 Double Team
    34 Shock Wave
    35 Flamethrower
    36 Sludge Bomb
    38 Fire Blast
    39 Rock Tomb
    41 Torment
    42 Facade
    43 Secret Power
    44 Rest
    45 Attract
    46 Thief
    55 Endure
    57 Iron Fist*
    58 Nightfall
    60 Megafriction*
    61 Umbrage
    68 Venom Strike
    75 Sleep Talk
    77 Overload*
    78 Substitute
    79 Rocket Punch
    80 Orion's Sword
    H4 Strength*
    H6 Rock Smash*
And the egg moves: (Yeah, lock-step what they were in the RSE series)
    Haze
    Lick
    Mean Look
    Imprison
    Curse
    Shadow Punch
    Explosion

Terra Strike might work on Muk. I can imagine a Muk sending an attack down into the earth and it popping up afterwards.

But man, Poison is criminally underrepresented in Topaz moves...

What are people's opinions on Muk having Overload on TM? It seems a little out of place, but no more than Thunderbolt on Raticate...

Hmm...actually, the more I think about it, Terra Strike does seem like something Muk could use.

I suppose Overload could work too, since he already gets Thunderbolt and Thunder through RSE TMs.

You already put Overload on TM, that's why I brought it up.

Speaking of random and slightly out of place, Rhydon learning Surf. One of the most epic moments of my childhood.

I could see Terra Strike on Muk, and Overload is fine, I mean, it'd be fun to see Muk explode and leave copious amounts of itself on everything and every wall in the immediate area. XD

And he does learn Explosion via Egg Move...

Everything here looks good, I can't find anything I take issue to. When I first looked at it, his levelup moveset seemed a little dry, but after consideration I think it's fine the way it is. I think Terra Strike and Overload fit fine, and Explosion is great as an egg move.

Just bumping to help move along. I can kinda see Overload, but it's a bit of a stretch...oh well. I'm 100% fine with Terra Strike and Explosion.

I'm good with both. But WHERE would Terra Strike go? Egg move? TM? Or a levelset move? Is it even a TM? If so I say TM.

It's not a TM and it's pretty criminally unrepresented among Pokemon, so I think moveset is the best place.

Yeah, I really like the idea of the move on Muk so moveset sounds good.

He also has crazy long gaps between moves, so he could use more

I'd be fine with Terra Strike as well. Maybe we replace something like Sludge Bomb or something (since SB is special, it doesn't do Muk a lot of good).

Sludge Bomb is nearly signature for Muk though. I mean who can you imagine using it more easily? Screech is the move I think seems the least fitting. It's in the middle of two other supporting moves (Minimize and Acid Armor) and I have troubles imagining a high-pitched Muk.

Would Grimer really be able to manage Terra Strike? It seems to be a lot to expect from such a small pokemon. I could see it on Muk, who looks a lot stronger, but Grimer looks too wimpy to manage it.

I don't really know much about balancing moves on pokemon (my technique in game is "get rid of it if it doesn't do damage"), so I can only really look at this based on what would fit the pokemon's appearence/dex entry.

If Grimer can learn Explosion via Egg move, than I don't see why it can't use Terra Strike.

Well, considering that its stats will be smaller, the Terra Strike will be less damaging. So it'll be a smaller Terra Strike too.

I downloaded the latest version of Essentials and added/subtracted things from the default pokemon.txt entries, so height, weight, BattlerEnemyY, growthrate, baseEXP, stepstohatch, habitat, compatibility, rareness, and effort points are all whatever Essentials thought they should be. Enjoy!

Excellent, that was a wonderful idea. I should have thought of that :/ Now to fix all the things that are off about what we already have (especially BattlerEnemyY...) Will post up the Grimer writeup.
