Default i contacted oykawoo and asked for some art

He said he would try to do one but he was going through a tough time right now, so let's all hope it turns out well for him.

That was about a week ago, today he emails me again with his latest creation, Equill.

He even said he might do another, which would be amazing.

Amazing, I love how smooth it/they look.

More would be great, they are perfect for sigs/ads to use on other forums.

Surprisingly, he sent me another one! He didn't directly mention making another one but did ask if I needed another in a different size. I said just one more with Firrel's size would be icing on the cake. I even mentioned a Pokemon, which I won't say here - I don't want to get everybody's hopes up if he turns out to not do it. It will be next weekend after this one, at least, before he can do it.

Wow, those are both great! Concept art is one thing we are short on.

Those are really really awesome! Also, if you'd like I can send a note to Phoenixsong on dA reminding her of the 5 she promised to do for us (Tellure, Eaglair, Ingero, Whispaw, and one other I don't remember)

Yeah, that would be cool. Do you have a sample of her work?

Sure do. I entered that contest for a reason XD
Here are some of my favourites:

She's got some more awesome stuff strewn around the internets (it seems like every site she frequents she tries to show different work, so there's good stuff on Orange Islands, DexGenesis, etc. too). She deserves a lot more attention than she's given. Also, she uses a trackpad like a pro.

oykawoo sent me yet another masterpiece. I happened to mention my favorite Topaz Pokemon and he drew it.

    Misticade!

I don't expect him to do any more and I expressed our sincere gratitude.

It looks excellent! I wish it wasn't quite in the same position as the sprite is (it looks unprofessional when your sprite and concept art look the same) but oykawoo has delivered on so many levels that I feel guilty just for saying that!

Yeah, he probably didn't have much time to do it.

I love it, Misticade is definitely in my top 3 as far as favorite Topaz Exclusives go, it's nice to see him come to life, it looks really, really good. Many thanks to oykawoo

I hope this isn't too unrelated, but I was on Smogon, browsing around their Create a Pokemon project, and I noticed that there are like 50+ amazing digital artists/concept artists there! The quality of work put up and out by people with sometimes only 1-10 posts was amazing, people really want their ideas used, we need to somehow find a way to appeal to this demographic. Perhaps an ad campaign? lol

I don't think we'd have much luck getting interest until a demo is out. Advertising before it is out could cause people to not be interested when we try advertising after. You could try PMing individuals and asking them to do some but don't advertise in public.

I think a couple of them are helping out with Acanthite at the moment. Wyverii, and some others.

Smogon really does have tons of talent for their CAP, though their process takes so long I don't think they could make a game with it.

I whored myself to X-Antibody for some art as well. I had hoped he could do art in the style that he did Typhinda in. Typhinda is much too large to use in any button designs or what have you not. He responded and said that he didn't have photoshop and is unable to download anything on the computer he is on. However, he did say that he can do art in MSPaint and showed me some samples, I gave him the go-ahead and he came up with this masterpiece:

I think that will look great as a flavor image on a page somewhere on the site. Wish I had more like it but I don't want to take X-Antibody away from the 'real' work he's been doing for Topaz - such as Willow's excellent sprite.

It looks amazing! Too bad about him not having Photoshop or Paint.net to have it transparent, though. I suppose on a multiply layer or something, you can use it and have it look transparent.

Sorry it may be a bit hard, though. The lines are really messy -o-"

Yeah, I already tried and the magic wand tool leaves behind white stuff which I will need to zoom in on and erase. No biggie though.

You have patience for that? You might want to just put it on a multiply layer whenever you want it transparent. It might mess with the hues though.
