I tried again with Cumuloft. I'm honestly sick of this prite, so I'm temporarily putting it away.

I'm working on an updated Eaglair next, and them all of the backsprites for the demo have at least a placeholder. [insert appropriate level of excitement here]

    *is more excited than ^*

Anyway, it's looking really good. The outline missing on the bottom makes it look unfinished though.

I'm really proud of this one. The tailfeathers could use some fleshing up and the back is a little angular. Other than that, is there anything else?

As I've said before, you seem to have a talent for spriting most birds. Eaglair looks like an excellent start. It still needs refining, just little tweaks I'm sure you'll notice as you look through on whatever image-editing software you use, and the ones you said, but it's a great base.

Won't be long before we have all the back sprites we need for the demo thanks to Reliability's hard work!

The Eaglair backsprite has definitely improved. My only gripe is that the tail feathers now look a little flat because of the lack of shading. Keep up the good work!

Around where the tail attaches to the base there should be a rounded shadow to flesh it out. Also there's a few curves that look slightly too pointy, at the top of the head, on the breast. Noticeable improvement though!

Wolvine's taking longer than expected. A large part of the sprite wasn't done right, probably because it's a simple edit of Novoni's old one, which was based off of the old Wolflower, which is different from Wolvine. I'm having to make huge sweeping edits, since even the colours are wrong...

    EDIT: Done:
    Before:
    After:

I'd suggest not reverting to the "Before" since a lot of the proportions and colours are off. If needs be edited, edit the "After" one.

It works now, weird. Anyway, I'm no expert but couldn't the back of the head use some more shading, to bring out the contours?

Now that I look at it it does look rather flat. I'll see what I can do. (There's a fine line trade-off between shading and cleanliness.)

well, as i said before, i'm not the greatest at spriting, just wanted to try my hand at helping out, and seeing as it needed a new backsprite, i thought i'd try my luck...Anyway, it looks a lot better now, IB, and yeah, the head could use some shading...Also, i though Wolvine's sprite had it's hand facing outward, this one has it facing towards Wolvine...

Gosh it's difficult to dither. I've only done in twice before and they were really easy jobs.

Wasn't sure what the "rounded shadow" meant, so I guessed. I also cheated by adding another shade of red for the tail shading. Oddly enough, the front sprite only uses one. :/

Also, just a note that I'm probably going to fix/re-do Coroona and the Embear line, so that (hopefully) all of the back sprites for the demo are officialized ones.

Personally I think Coroona looks great but that might just be me being attached to it since I edited it.

It certainly hasn't garnered much attention or support so that's the reason it's not really official.

    Disregard.

I did not save the most original Coroona because it was not my sprite. Do you have it IB? If not, I really do need to re-sprite it. XD

They match the sprite, although you may want to put lines on the back of his hands to indicate the 'paw fingers' like the sprite does.

I just tried, and it really really doesn't work. It makes Coroona's hands seem twisted in painful ways.

On the other hand, a slightly new take, to differentiate a little more from Whispaw:

The only problem is that it look me a second to figure out what it was. Is it possible to show it's connection to the body, or have the tip appear somewhere? (I think the tail wraps around in the front sprite, so perhaps that would work.)

I don't know. That would probably be pushing it in terms of proportions.

    These all look pretty great.

(I will be hanging around more, but won't really be able to help much until after my AP exams in early May. Also why is it that I always come back when I begin to play pokemon again?)

I don't know if you're still having trouble coming up with ideas for how to make Destado look more pokemon-like, maybe you could have it showing an arm, and maybe even an eye? I made this as kind of an example, its pretty terrible (5 minutes in paint will do that), but maybe one of the artists could use it as inspiration.

sadly after reading thru this whole section i don't remember all the ones i like but for the ones that are on the top of my head:
Eaglair looks good and i don't think it needs anymore edits...
Cumuloft looks pretty good and i cant think of anything needing editting on it...
Coroona looks pretty good but i cant think of what it is that it actually needs...
i think there's something it's missing but i cant think of what it is...
Phantern looks great even the first one looks great i didnt see a difference there and the pre-evo looks good now that it's been edited...
