    Default Konrad's maps

Quinn is apparently missing, so I've been taking care of the maps so far. I don't want to monopolize anything, so I'm keeping a public topic to decide upon details and style. For the demo, I'm just copying Quinn's work, but a mis-click in the editor made what I thought was a cool effect and I want some opinions on it.

Here's Quinn's map (buildings are on a different layer, so they're transparent):

And here's what I did by accident:

    Which do you prefer?

I like the bottom one better, personally. That map, along with most of the demo maps, were actually made by Fangking Omega I believe.

I barely prefer the top one over the bottom one.

"Typical zero has no opinion other than supporting the majority consensus", but posting to say I saw it. Either looks good.

Though the bottom one has an interesting effect, I prefer the simpler top one.

I've always liked the little, slightly ornate paths, over just plain wide concrete looking ones, so I prefer the bottom one. However, if it causes too much trouble, or takes up too much space to use, or causes more lag than is allowed, then I'd be willing to settle for the top one.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Seems like we're leaning towards the bottom map. I don't think it fits well for this town, but it'll work well for one of the larger, modern cities. Each town should have its own personality. If anyone has any ideas of their own, feel free to post them! If you want, I can get together a .zip file with all of the necessary files to make your own maps and upload it somewhere.

Space and lag will not be an issue. I'm also a fan of the smaller and more unique paths. I'm thinking that most of the smaller towns could have smaller dirt paths while the more populous cities will have paved roads in more places.

I'd prefer the top, but either is fine.

Feel free to make a folder in /svn/ for personal use. Right click on an empty space in Filezilla and you should get "Create Directory" in the dropdown.

To link someone to it would be http://pokemontopaz.net/svn/folder/file.zip

Our bandwidth is unmetered, so no worries. Just restrict it to Topaz use if you can, since resource consumption on the webserver is one thing they do watch.
