A Fakedex from the Buizel Boy!

Posted this on OI, but I wanted more opinions than theirs!

I had my friend over today, and we decided to make a fakedex!

These are new starters for a region I made a while ago. The region was for Pokémon Stardust, a Ruby ROMhack I was planning on making (a plot-sequal to Platinum). Anyway, my friend drew three starters for the region, but I still need ideas! I might even sprite these!

The Pokémon are shown below. They are currently just lineart, but I'll color them eventually...:

Alright, now to explain them!

*Mazrael, the Grass-type Praying Mantis Pokémon. This is the only Pokémon that Joshua drew that I like the name AND final typing of! Final evo is Grass/Dark (otherwise, it'd just be a glorified Parasect/Leavanny >_< Grass/Bug FTL).

*Cori, the Fire-type Manticore Pokémon. I would like help on a better name for this one; however, I'm keeping the final evo's type (Fire/Poison). Interesting fact: the males will have small beards, while females have no beards and longer hair tufts. The one in the picture is a female.

*Harmene, the Water-type Sea Anemone Pokémon. I would like a better name AND a final evo typing for this one! However, I might just go with Water/Electric, as Dragonfire suggested, but Water/Psychic or pure Water would work, too (FYI, I was thinking "Eynemi" or "Eye + Anemone" was a better name...).

Besides that, we need ideas for the trio, legendaries, and fossils...and, of course, help with these three!

Wouldn't Mazrael be primarily Bug before anything else, since it's a bug? Even Parasect is only grass really because of the mushrooms on its back. I like the concept, and the name (though I can't guess how it correlates to a praying mantis), but perhaps you'd want to keep that as a wild Bug Pokemon rather than force the concept as a starter? Cori's concept is clever, and I think the name is fine. As for Harmene, as a water Pokemon its concept is fine, I think. Water/Electric or Water/Poison would seem the two fitting typings, given the sting of sea anemones.

Hmmm, you have a point, IB, about Mazrael. Its name is derived from "mantis" and a demon's name that my friend uses for his stories ("Azrael"). I would be satisfied with Cori, but I cannot think of any other names that actually suggest it's a Fire-type.

Don't know what to name it, but Copsee/Copseed might work...(it's a "helicopter seed")

Not on its own, but it evolves into one.

Anyway, I finally am getting around to adding four more fakemon that I already added on OI, but I'm not up for doing that right now. =|

Back, because I'm pretty sure my girlfriend won't make an account here, and I'm giving her credit anyway for the last drawing.

Unnamed jail imp sorta thing. My friend (not girlfriend, a different friend) is redrawing the ball and chain. Dark/Steel OR Dark/Fighting, since we might remove the ball entirely.

Vinling and Vinfreek, the Grass-type Thorn and Grass/Dark-type Grapevine Pokemon. Friend is redesigning Vinfreek, would also like a better name for it.

Polyana, the Water-type Anemone Pokemon. Water-type first-stage evo, we're not sure what type to make it once it evolves again, but since it's Harmene's evo, it's definitely got Water in there. And speaking of Harmene...

Now THIS beauty of an art piece was drawn by my girlfriend. It's absolutely wonderful, isn't it?

That piece of Harmene artwork is really a............ good piece of artwork.

Polyana looks more like a 100%FEMALE...... But you could say the same about Mr.mime though.... Anyway you might wanna fix Polyana's feet. They look strange. And it should be water/poison.

As for Vinfreak...... How about about naming it Vinshriek?

This will not be happening, since the Fire starter's final evolution is Fire/Poison. =P

That is a problem. How about water/electric? It's the oonly logic thing that I can think of for an anemone.

I like the art but Cori seems quite big for a starter in that picture. Other than that, it is a really good artwork.
