So I'm starting the Nuzelocke challenge!
And this is (Sorta...) the Prologue!

Good luck man! Nuzlocke is brutal, I couldn't do it. Are you going to follow the nickname rule, or no?

Didn't know this existed and I'm actually interested in trying it out too...

Not sure which game to do though. Suggestions? I'd want to do it with Heart Gold, Pearl, or Black.

Most I've seen are RSE and FRLE, as that's what the Original Nuzlocke challenge was created in. No idea about those, though I'd probably start with your least favorite of the three, that was the loss of data isn't so bad.

Realized where this thread was and moved it.

I went with Peral since it was a while since I played through it. (If you know me, I don't really like keeping games I've finished, so it really didn't matter which I was going to choose.)

But I'm pissed because I keep defeating the first Pokemon I meet on each route, so I barely have anything to raise. The two Geodudes I did catch have IDENTICAL stats and abilities, so I'm at a loss of how I'm supposed to choose one.

This makes me think... What if the TRPG had Nuzlocke mode? How would that work out?

Probably wouldn't be too hard to implement, but....It would be kinda hard to run in the early game.

Also, it would probably appeal to a small minority in the Pokemon Community, even smaller in TRPG form.

I'm not sure if it would work in the TRPG, but I was wondering if we could add an option in the actual Topaz game when it's released. It might not be too hard.
It would require a little coding:
-Menu to choose normal or Nuzlocke (This menu would just change a switch to Nuzlocke On)
-Add switches for every area, turns on during first encounter
-If Nuzlocke switch on and area switch on, you can't catch the pokemon. Display error message of some sort
-Fainting script will release Pokemon if Nuzlocke on
Optional: Record species and name of each dead pokemon, then display it somewhere, like a cemetery or something

The Errand

It all started with a Rawst berry yogurt. I didn't want to eat it, but Mom said I had to. It was sticky, it was gooey, but worst of all it was bitter...
''Screw this,'' I muttered as I sent the yogurt carton flying into the thrash can. I grabbed my PokéGear and slid out the window, using trees to slow my fall(Yes I'll admit it, I'm a wild child). while I was walking though New Bark, I noticed there was a 'HELP WANTED' sign on the door of Professer Elm's lab (Easy money since the guy's to lazy to pick up moo moo milk from the mart!).
The job was just as easy as I thought! All I had to do was pick up a parcel from some old guy in Cherrygrove. But the payment was not money, he gave me a trainer card and a Pokémon. My own legitimate frickin' Pokémon!

I bolted out the door to my destination, destroying everything in my way. I collected the parcel and on my way out of Cherrygrove some prick named Silver decided to block my way. Cole totally whupped that Totodile where the sun don't shine and I left Silver *Sunglasses* in the ashes.
When I got back to the lab it was late, very late. Elm was asleep in his lab so I left the parcel in his mailbox. When I noticed the lights in my house were off I decided I was going to make like a Doduo and *sunglasses* Run Away.
Why? Why not. I had a Pokémon and a trainer card. I was an offical Pokémon trainer now, I'd ring Mom in Azalea Town. It was a fool proof plan.
