Meant to have this done earlier, but I'm not used to the Ubuntu scanning software and managed to screw up the lineart. Finally got it right, though, so at long last I can give you guys this:

It looks really good. Only things are
1. Right foot awkwardly positioned
2. Muzzle thing is a bit short
3. Left arm is a bit fat

I don't think the muzzle is any shorter than it is on the sprite; it's also foreshortened slightly. A bent arm would also be a little chubbier than an extended one due to the muscles contracting and bunching up, and if the flames and its knee weren't in the way the arm wouldn't look as thick.

I can sort of see where you're coming from with the foot, though; it's supposed to be sitting on the sides of its feet in a "cutesy" sort of way, but I probably turned it a little too much.

Looks nice! The fire seems like it was really hard to do. I agree on the right foot, but I like it in general.

Phoenixsong doesn't really have time to do these so I'm not going to nitpick. Glad to see your style finally making its way into Topaz.

I can probably fix the foot eventually; it's not terribly easy since I'm not drawing these on the computer, but I have ways of making minor changes. It's just that, yeah, I really don't have time to go through a lot of revisions right now. Glad it's okay otherwise, though, and if all else fails you could just position it wherever it needs to go on the layout so that the legs are hidden.

When I resize it for use in a button on the site or whatever, the (very few) flaws will magically disappear. :)

...and so, a year later...

SS reminded me that I still owe you guys some stuff; unfortunately I don't know that I have the time to come back to Topaz with any regularity given some stuff I have on the horizon, but I miss this place and there's no sense not dropping in every now and then. Especially not when I come bearing gifts, no?

Something like that all right for jirachi? If it checks out, I'll go ahead with the inking and coloring when I get the chance. If not, suggest away while it's still easy for me to change.

And while I'm here, I was also told that IB wanted art for kunaiga and tellure. He gets five pictures as per the contest prize (though if I'm ever able to devote a little more time to Topaz I don't mind doing a bit more later; not sure when that will be), and those two + this + whispaw only makes four. Is there a fifth Topazmon that you guys feel needs art/new art more desperately than anything else at the moment?

The last one was probably something like Gryphonic.

I personally really like the Jirachi sketch so far!

Awesome, awe-inspiring, and awesome (again).

Looks great!

I agree with everything IB just said. I'd like to add that I think the mouth is a bit big, but other than that, I can easily imagine the finished product being better than your Whispaw, which is really awesome.

I don't think it's too big Tyrannigon. I look forward to the finalized product!

Thanks for taking the time to do it. We all appreciate it.

Everything looks great in the sketch! It all flows well, and seems proportionally in line with the actual art/sprites of Jirachi. I say go for it!

That is really awesome! Remember how I said that the mouth was too big on the sketch? For some reason, it doesn't seem so on the coloured version.

Cool! It's hard to believe that it's taken us 5+ years to get art done of our mascot Pokemon.

Many thanks. I'll update the site with material sometime this week.

Y :P I noticed you moved the eyes up and added some detail to the mouth in the colored version fixing the mouth size problem :)
