SHINY BACKSPRITES!!!

Be afraid. Idk where all of the shiny ones are, but I think they should be edited into here and the soon following posts. That means hopefully some mods or admin(s???) would be needed too. So let this little project end, and probably end VERY fast if backsprites are edited to the awesome perfect some have, and then recolored.

I took what I believe is ready. Not saying the others aren't, just saying idk. Remember, HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN since I did something here??? *exclude my just barely thing ;) *

Edit: I've actually stumbled onto a problem. The backsprites from the repository, when copied and pasted into MS Paint, just show up as black squares. Is there a place where I can find all the backsprites in one place? If I find it, I'll edit this post. If not, I'll just search for each individual back sprite.

It might be better to do this rather than how the shinies went down. The shinies were more for credits and junk, but still. This doesn't need credit, knowing its just recolors of stuff already done.
So lets begin a list. Idk How many images it is per post, but I know I've got a lot. So give me some time to get them, and soon they will be. From there, we can get this going.

If someone is going to make one that looks good, then yes. But I don't see a reason why we can't use existing sprites for it.

The shiny Wolvine has a shading problem. The lightest shade of yellow for the leaves is the same as the lightest shade of green of normal Wolvine. Just pointing it out

Edit: Moocalf has a similar problem, it's shiny's lightest green shade is the same as it's normal version's lightest brown shade.

Edit button expired. Shiny Jackalant's vine outlines are messed up.

Edit: Found something else, the outline of shiny Zantillidae's claws are messed up too.

Edit: Same as previous edit, but with Pythang, the green part.

I'm glad these are being done quickly.

As for Tyrannigon's comments:

Wolvine's leaves: it's true, when looked at closely, it looks fluorescent.
Don't quite see it with Moocalf though.
I think Shiny Jackalant's vine outlines are fine, and don't see too much wrong with Zantilidae.
Pythang seems fine too.

Is there something wrong with your computer's colour depictions? Or are you saving the screenshots as jpgs? Those are the best explanations I can think of for the problems you're talking about. Instead of taking a screenshot, why don't you try dragging the image into the address bar, which will give you a clean image instead of being forced to magic wand the background out or something.

If you need to zoom in to see them then maybe it's not such an issue. Like Jackalant, I just zoomed in to 2400% and there's no problem with the outline aside from the fact that one line of black was replaced with a lighter shade, which isn't an issue since that's what you have to do when using yellow or light colours anyhow. Certainly not "messed up".

Well this problem is noticeable: Kraklaw doesn't have a shiny sprite as far as I'm concerned. Also, I've seen two completely different Kraklaw front sprites and I'm confused as to which one is the official Kraklaw, because the back sprite in the repository looks like one version (and there are several places with the front sprite on the forums) (first one shown below), but the front sprite on the website and repository is a different version (second one shown below)!

The marking is slightly off to the left side, and therefore wouldn't be fully visible in this sprite, where that part of the abdomen is viewed from the right. I think that was my thought process at the time, but I'm sure we can add the top bit of it if it's an issue.

What we do need is the current backsprites (http://www.pokemontopaz.net/pokemonbacksprites) recolored to match the shiny front sprites (http://www.pokemontopaz.net/pokemonshinyfrontsprites/).

You can see which backsprites have already been converted here (http://pokemontopaz.net/open/).

You may also want to check this thread (http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/showthread.php?939-Backsprite-General-Editing) to make sure you aren't recoloring any backsprites that are going to end up being edited.

Some people insisted on disabling right click which is just a bad web design practice in general so I came up with the "hide it behind a transparent sprite" alternative.

There's no way to prevent stealing on the web so it's all pointless, as all you are doing most of the time is hindering people - even those trying to help!

Yep, it's a brilliant process. I had to download a new paint editor that can save screenshots as .png. It can't directly add transparency though, and the only paint editor I have with transparency can't save as png. It is... a pain! But regardless, I'm glad I could help.

This is random, but one thing I noticed with some of the sprites, namely Ferrian and Cackinge (beat me to the punch on the Ghost/Steel knight design BTW, I've been trying to do it but it never comes out good.), is that they are extraordinarily high quality for pokemon sprites. I could do a shading fix if you want, but I don't think you will. So, just pointing that out.

That's honestly a bit ridiculous. If you used Firefox, then you could click on the favicon (should be a soul dew icon to the left of the address bar) and hit More Information on the window that comes up.

Go to Media tab and you should be able to click on individual backsprites and use the "Save As" button.

Yes guys, I realize that I just told everybody how to bypass our very own "security" but that just goes to show you how freaking pointless it is.

Even this guy figured out how to rip them the hard way, I just told him an easier way to do it. :\

Yeah, I don't see how that would fit into the storyline. I hate to say it since you seem so eager to help, but Topaz is pretty far along in terms of design/plot development.

There's not much that we'd consider open for change at this point, other than what's being discussed in threads atm (Gym Leaders/storyline nuances, etc).

I sent you a PM with the backsprites in a zip folder, to make it easier on both of us. I ended up having to align most of your sprites but you still did excellent work.

However, I had to delete Celsinge and Fahramane since you seem to have accidentally cut off their whiskers. I couldn't simply paste them back on so I discarded the sprites. The rest were solid though, they're up at http://pokemontopaz.net/pokemonshinybacksprites

BTW as for Shadow pokemon, I was kind of getting at Team Rocket using them to beat the Orion Defenders (Yes, I did read the story line. It's EPIC.). But, since your mind is made up, I won't pursue it any farther (Gives me something for Pokemon Blaze anyway. Team Eclipse and Team Nebula maybe? Shadow and Light Pokemon?) I don't think there's a way to change the limit for individual albums but you should be able to make new albums.

@Konrad, I may have mistakenly sent you some outdated sprites. You should only be using what is currently up on the site. (Aside from what hasn't been posted yet, that is - such as metalord's newly done sprites. I'll have those up tomorrow most likely and will send you another e-mail with them.)

If I accidentally sent you sprites for former generation Pokemon then those are probably no good. We're using Platinum Frame 1 sprites as Reli said. I'll get them ripped and packaged sometime.

lol, I wish you said that before I ripped them all from Bulbapedia. No worries, minus the 14 missing shiny back sprites, its all in one place now.

I'll try Celsinge and Fahramane, but it seems the backsprites have a pallete for the muzzle the front sprite doesn't have. It's kinda weird.

72 shiny backsprites later, I beleive I'm done here. The remaining sprites are pretty annoying. Quinn can do those. Even if it's just shiny backsprites, I'm glad I could contribute something. Do you guys need pokedex data? I found a decent template that's free to use, and I have experience making dex data.

Anyway, I didn't realize more backsprites were done but I got the last batch posted to the site. I'll do these right now real quick. Will edit when done.
