I have always found it interesting how people make a big deal out of the New Year or Birthdays. Sure, there are usually parties, but afterwords, nothing has really changed. The sun still shines, the Earth still spins, the people still act irrationally. If we are celebrating the rotation of the Earth around the Sun, that is fair enough. But then why don't we celebrate every morning, as the Sun comes up? New years can be somewhat depressing, too. 8760 hours ago, I was in basically the same place in life as I am now. Nothing is profoundly different.

Still, it is nice to have something to celebrate and to help take your mind off things. Happy New Year, it is good for you.
