For Pythang, I think the head should be tilted more toward us i.e. we should see more of it. But you have the right idea and the perspective on the body is right.
That isn't exactly what was supposed to be done with Kondria.
It probably has to be re-done, but neon wanted it to look more like this. The perspective on the head has to be changed, which means that the body will have to be re-sprited as well. I don't think I said it might have to be re-done, but now that I think about it, it probably does.
This was a very minor touch up, so it didn't take long. But I should probably put it up for review anyway in case I did something glaringly wrong.

Edit:
Changes:
Added black to shaded areas of outline.
Added an extra colour in the shell outline to smooth transition from black to lighter outline shade.
Made some minor line changes to improve roundness.
Darkened the iceblock-outline for the shell's interior to make it more visible.
Added shading to igloo "entrance" portion at the neck.
A repost of the edit over in the master thread, I simply changed Kunaiga's icicles to be a bit more curved to fit its front sprite. There are three versions; the only difference between the three are the amount of layers that were used. I think the colors changed slightly as well, but I think that was a side effect of some sort.

Whew, only 2 hours for this one:

I would love it if someone gave me a better idea of how to do the shading on the mane. I'll try not to get too attached to this one, so criticize all you like. I'm not leading this project
The mane shading should be less stripy (but I think you knew that). Think about it this way: the darker shade will be where the hair is thickest, the lightest shade where it is thinnest. Exactly where and how much is up to you.
Otherwise, the body needs to curve down a little less, so that it doesn't look like it ends. Perhaps if you moved the whole sprite down? It would avoid the problem altogether. The beard might also need to point more downwards, and be potentially longer. It's difficult to tell what it is right away; it looks a little like the mouth is open, but in a broken sort of way.
But you did such a good job. I'm so happy!
Thanks! I'll make all of those changes, and experiment with the mane a bit more. Does anyone have any recommendations of similar canonmon so I can study them and try to replicate the effect?
Here are the changes so far, I'll get back to you on the mane, or I might defer it at the very least until I get pokemon.txt going.
Horse hair's more flowing. Not sure about unicorns, but surely it'd flow too?
The left side of the mane hits peak for peak with the front sprite, IIRC.
The only real problems I have with Unicrown is the highlights on its cheek seem a little too bright, compared to other areas. Maybe it's just the contrast, I don't know. As well, the lower lip seems a bit off, the part that hangs down is...umm...what's the word...well, It hangs at an odd angle to me, and...it...well, doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the lower jaw.
The highlights are jarring to me too, but the colour is directly swiped from the front sprite and if I take them off completely then the style will be too different, I think.
As for the lower lip, I can't seem to see the problem as you do and probably can't fix it until I do. So maybe keep throwing suggestions until we get onto the same page?
ok, nevermind. From my perspective, it looked like the mouth was open, and the chin was jutting out at an odd angle, but it's really just the chin hair curling. Maybe if the chin hair's curl wasn't so close to the mouth that the outline makes them look connected?
Okay, I'll disconnect it more at the front.
Sounds like a plan, IB~
I just realized I edited Iglonia's shiny, not her original. Can someone recolour the sprite as per the original's colours so I can put it on the site?
I also finally, FINALLY finished remaking Tellure's backsprite. This thing took like 6-8 hours to do. (So please don't entirely rip it apart?)
I call upon the awesome editing powers of Reliability to make it better in every way!

What's with the random black dot on top, and why does the head seem to intersect the igloo opening? "I'm glad you took it upon yourself to do that at least.
Thank you. Maybe whoever said it was right about some of the Pokemon really not having enough difference between their shiny and original forms.
That was me, and yeah, we probably should change Iglonia's shiny.
So I tried Pythang again (after a freaking year) with the advice that Reliability gave.
Looks OK, but it still could use some work. The head is fine, but the eye's pupil could be a bit more smaller to make it look more intimidating. The fang could be a bit longer and curvier too. But those are just my thoughts.
I feel like the face doesn't pull away form the body enough. It's a snake, and every snake that I've seen has a sort of mini snout that pulls the face away from the body, and most don't have the face going straight up from the rest of the body. Look at Seviper, which is it's prevo and Ekans, They're faces come out of the body and are more defined. Also, I feel that Pythang is looking straightforward instead of at an upward angle toward the enemy, which seems to be a norm among backsprites.
Added black outlining to Slowpriest. Honestly it doesn't make that much difference but should help keep styles consistent.
I believe for something like this that Consistency is a must. I'd find it kind of annoying to find one Pokemon with absolute awesome sprite(s), then the next one looks like it was done by a 5 year old. :| Now that's just a little overboard, compared to what you're talking IB, but it's still relevant. Sorta.
It's hard though. Novoni was so much better at using dithering (and back then used dithering more liberally since that's what was used a lot in RSE) than I am so her sprites will always kind of have a different style from mine and Reliability's. Not to mention that Reliability and I have different styles too (he tends to focus more on texture, whereas I like neater rounded shapes).
But at least we can try to give them all black outlining~
Black outlining should be enough to prevent any nitpickers and nay-sayers that can, and more than likely will, pop-up once we have the game or at least the demo out, but it's hard to say for sure. I just hope that they don't show up.
More like hundreds of chances. XD
