Zangoose
(Canon Pokemon)
Zangoose is a Pokemon from Hoenn which is found, albeit infrequently, in Caldera/Kirant. The routes it inhabits are 209, 225 and the Safari Zone. It is a hardy Pokemon that can survive near Abaddon Swamp as well as in the rocky pass near Sedcini Cave. In Caldera/Kirant, it gains the ability to evolve using the Rivalry Orb, the obtaining of which requires a small sidequest. This evolves it into Zantilidae, an even more vicious creature.
Zangoose is primarily known for its rivalry with Seviper, a Pokemon that also appears in Hoenn and Caldera/Kirant. This is the basis for its Pokedex entry: "ZANGOOSE's eternal rival is SEVIPER. According to legend, the red scar on its chest is passed down from the first clash between the two POKEMON. " As an interesting tidbit, Zangoose is the last Pokedex Entry to be completed in our entire dex, because of the difficulty of finding an entry that wasn't just a rehash of Zantilidae's. Eventually a newcomer, locoroco1, came up with the concept that is now in use.
Interesting fact: Zangoose's ability, Immunity, may seem out of place, but actually is a symbol of its rivalry with Seviper, since it grants immunity to the poison status.
Zangoose is one of the earliest canon Pokemon that was introduced to Caldera/Kirant, because of the creation of its evolution, Zantilidae.

That bit of Zangoose being included very early was very interesting! Are there any other Pokemon like that?
Most of the evolved forms of babies or pre-evos of Topazmon, Jirachi, IIRC Pineco/Forretress, Scyther/Scizor the Mareep Line. Latecomers were the Whismur Line, definitely, along with Remoraid/Octillery and I think Corphish/Crawdaunt.
Wasn't Relicanth one of them, too? The latecomers, I mean.
Probably.
