I could go link-searching if no one else wants to. It shouldn't take too long to find everything needed.

Did I miss anything?
Gym Leaders, Pokedex Entries, Egg Groups, Colours, NPC Lines, Shinies. I should probably make a new topic for EVs and Steps to Hatch and all those kinds of things too so people don't have to look in the Pokemon.txt topic.
Updated the list above. By the way, is there a list of all the NPC lines somewhere? 'Cause I can't find it.
No, they can also be found in the Contributor forum.
@Noog:http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/s...ough-NPC-lines!
I have an issue with some of the backsprites. Im not sure if it is just me, but I feel for a lot of the pokemon that not enough of their body is being shown and in some cases distinguishing between evoulutions can be difficult.
This being said, I am in no way artisticly talented and definitely couldn't do a better job. I just feel it may be important to put my view across before it is too late for any editing. I thing Quinn edited some sprites to show more of the body here - http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/s...-Factory/page3. Moocalf and Celsinge look exceptional and I think this is the ideal amount of body being shown.
A lot of backsprites are going through a revamp process. You can check out the specifications here: http://www.pokemontopaz.net/forums/s...s-Master-Topic
I addressed Moocalf in your linked topic. For such a short Pokemon that much shouldn't be showing, otherwise it'd be on stilts. The Celsinge line I guess just really didn't have enough process to them in terms of people discussing them and so passed off, though now you've brought them up people are welcome to address them. I think at the time I was a little miffed at how much credit Quinn was taking for what was mostly Novoni's work but now that my head is clearer we can talk about it.
When I personally made most of the ones I did, I was basing it off of earlier generation backsprites, where barely any of the Pokemon is shown. If you look through the RSE sprites (Link), you can see that they don't have much in the way of body for a great number of them. Because we are using RSE-based graphics and interfaces, that seemed like the most appropriate style.
Not to mention that Novoni and LostBinary aren't around to edit their sprites and so it's been generally better to just work around their style to try to stay consistent.
Our chat thing is shut down right?
'Cause I saw something about it when I first joined.
I bring it up because,
Let's face it, we need one.
I'll cast my vote here for an IRC. Something like chat.pokemontopaz.net sounds good. I think it'd be really useful.
zeroality got tired of maintaining it because no one ever used it. Do you think you can garner enough interest to make it viable?
I've never been a fan of chatboxes/IRC since so much of the discussion that goes on there becomes difficult to easily access.
Even just a wifi chatroom for canon games,
If we get enough members who are actually intersted in topaz, it'll work.
going to stat advertising on youtube
BisharpV2, let's get the views up for a start.
That okay with you IB???
Waitin' 4 permission.
Go ahead.
You know what might be awesome? If anyone here is into animations, or knows someone who is, we could work on some "promotional" videos to possibly increase interest in Topaz.
I'd be willing to do that, but it would be made in Windows Movie Maker. Would that be fine?
Yes.
This is bad, my youtube account won't let me do publish vids so...
someone else will have to do it, sorry.
About those videos, I think I can publish them.
I've been thinking, and playing a fun game recently, and hit upon an idea that may work for Topaz:
Ya know how whenever you throw a Pokeball and if it fails, it essentially disappears into the void? Well, why not make it so that the balls are re-useable in game, instead of disappearing after every failed attempt? It would waste less money in-game, more than likely wouldn't take up any more code than making them disappear, and would cause a lot less frustrations.
Or, at the very least, to make it not so OP, you could make them disappear in battle upon use, then get them back after the battle.
Or maybe have an item that gives you a chance of recovering used Pokeballs, if held by the lead Pokemon. It would certainly help your wallet early game, or when hunting for a specific, hard to find Pokemon.
I think the Pokeball system as is works. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are only two kinds of usable items in Pokemon:
1. Items that get used up after 1 use.
2. Items that never get used up (Like Flutes)
It's a simple system and easy to understand. I feel that generally people don't say "Ugh, why can't I just use my one Pokeball over and over" rather than "oh man, I should have bought more Pokeballs before I went into the Seafoam Islands." It's just an unnecessary silver platter.
Well, 2 things I have to say.
1. I didn't mean it like a useable item, i meant it as a hold item, that occasionally allows you to recover used Pokeballs AFTER your battle has ended. That was the idea that I ended up liking the best.
2. Maybe it's just me, but there are a lot of times that I've wished that Pokeballs didn't just disappear into the void. Especially early on when money is tight, so you can't buy tons of Pokeballs.
1. That's actually the most complicated idea. When someone decides to make their Pokemon hold it, the gain is very intangible. You don't know how many Pokeballs to buy, because you don't know how many Pokeballs you really have. It also seems hardest to program. What if you switch out that Pokemon before catching or it faints?
2. If there's no point where money is tight, there's on point having money at all, don't you think? The whole point to having money is to force decisions on how to spend it.
I'm sure it would work similar to the Amulet Coin in that so long as the Pokemon participates, it would take effect. The intangibility of it would be what makes it not so OP as just giving them all back. But I can see where you are coming from.
Really? I never saw it that way. In fact, I never really bothered to question the point of money in the game, other than to provide a reward, and to make you work toward that specific TM/Rare Item. I never really cared about the money except in the early stages when there wasn't much to use, which is where the item would be most effective. Maybe I played the game differently than most of you, but the money didn't seem like that big of a deal to me. I wasn't forced to make decisions. In real life, I'm terrible with money, so that probably has something to do with my views...
1. That would still make it pretty OP.
2. That's just their way of saying don't throw pokeballs at healthy pokemon.
I guess that's understandable. Anyway, sorry if I sounded rude or anything. >.> I have a tendency to continue arguing, if only to make sure my point isn't misunderstood, which tends to happen a lot of the time. I'm a terrible debater.
No, it's fine. We're here to argue, and people coming in will have an easier time understanding the points this way.
Ok, just thought I'd set that out there. Some people get annoyed when I do that, thinking I'm trying to be zealous and trying to defend a dead point to infinity, when I'm really just making sure the CORRECT point gets across.
Oh, is this to make it match with Johto, so it becomes an extension of Johto routes? That's kind of interesting.
Yes. And an added bonus; the routes won't contradict Sinnoh's routes. That part's not really important, because as far as we're concerned Sinnoh doesn't exist. Still, some people may appreciate it.
This way, the routes would increase from 1 to 87 (skippping 47 and 48, if we don't include the new HGSS routes).
I wouldn't mind, since I would like to gracefully step aside wherever conflict with Sinnoh is concerned.
Eh, at this point, It wouldn't bother me to change the route numbers. Personally, I'm fine with using as much unique stuff as we can.
Since there don't seem to be any complaints, I think we should make it officially official. All Route numbers will be decreased by... 152.
Should I go through the forums and change everything? The only problem with that is everyone knows the 200+ Route numbers, so it could cause some confusion. Perhaps we could go with 49 (201) etc., so that people will know what we're talking about?
Also, conversion table:

202 -> 50

I say keep 'em the same and just rename them once they're inserted into the game. That way we avoid confusion.
That's a good idea, as long as we don't forget.
shouldn't be too hard to forget. In fact, we could/should make that a running gag in the game, where one or two NPCs get confused about which routes are named what XD
Just had an idea. I used to really enjoy the bug-catching contest in Gold/Silver and thought something like that would be great for Topaz. Instead of a bug-catching contest, how about a fishing contest. I can see it being located on one of the long routes in Kirant, helping to break it up. Its an excuse to give away exclusive items or TMs, or even an HM. The pokemon I can see being available might be:
Remoraid (Very Common)
Trillogill (Common)
Corphish (Common)
Chinchou (Common)
Octillery (Uncommon)
Crawdaunt (Uncommon)
Lanturn (Rare)
Reefrain (Very Rare)
However I'm not sure how easy this might be to program
