Found at the bottoms of deep ponds and lakes, they become active at night. The stars on their heads glow, spooking humans who see it.

The stars on the heads pf CRAWDAUNT glow in the dark. While they mostly stay in bodies of water, seeing them at night in swamps has lead to the legend of the willow the wisp.

The star on CRAWDAUNT's head glows in the dark. It uses this to lure unsupecting prey, as well as to spook humans who may ruin its habitat.

Though its bioluminescent would be useful for luring prey, CRAWDAUNT is fast and strong enough not to need it. Its true purpose remains a mystery.

Did you mean that or "bioluminescense"?

I meant star. I was deleting whole sections of that sentence and must have screwed up.

I like the air of mystery in Reli's suggestion.

    Okay.

Crawdaunt: Though its bioluminescent star would be useful for luring prey, CRAWDAUNT is fast and strong enough not to need it. Its true purpose remains a mystery.
