Kalypso: Staccato
Kalypso: Syncopation
Gallea: Elixir
Gallea: Venom
Portwind: Shining
Portwind: Luminescent
Enechestra: Opal
Enechestra: Headland
Aquapolis: Deep (potentially Deep Dark)
Aquapolis: Celestial OR Ethernal
So close to being done with this. Excitement is in the air!
So, I would like to introduce the Fantasy Badge to you all as the new badge for Sedcini. Nobody voted anything but that, so that will be put up when the rest of these are decided on.
If there was a proponent for a certain option, it was put up. You can vote for multiple options, but clearly voting for both things will do nothing to the results.
[NOTE: There isn't enough space to put Ethernal and Celestial into the mix. If you vote for that option, please indicate in a post which one you want.]

celestial
I really like Ethernal, but I'm the only one who's voted for it.....
Just realized I voted for the first option for everything...
Internet five!
Remember, it's better if players don't have to reach for Google when they see the badge names, which is why I'm voting against Headland and Syncopation.
Voters
15. You have already voted on this poll
If you're curious, 15 was me.
Someone didn't vote for Kalypso. Oh well, Staccato was winning by so much anyways.
Assuming everyone votes the same, it won't matter. Run-offs are only effective if the options change.
The poll is now closed and the Staccato, Shining and Opal badges will be added to the gym leader topic once the other two are narrowed down. As always, these can go under review later, but these can stand as majority decisions.
I'm opening up to discussion on two things:
J) Discussion on Gallea's badge in an attempt to sway people. Also, it may be helpful to come up with other ideas. When enough has happened, I'll post a poll which will hopefully not end in a tie.
R) Deep or Deep Dark? If there is no clear consensus, I'll add it to the poll for J.
Dude who came up with the idea likes Deep Dark...but truthfully either one is fine.
And for Elixir > Venom, venom just seems....bland, to me. Poisons and toxins aren't always detrimental (not to mention they don't always come from venom), so why shouldn't the badge show the versatile nature of poisons, and of Poison-types? Eh, I might come back with a more cohesive argument on this later.
(and yes, I realized I flip-flopped the discussion points. deal with it.)

You shame the ancient Romans with your disrespect for alphabetical order.
For the record,
Elixir>Venom as well, mostly because Bella is fighting against the pollution of industrialism. She will be more concerned with the prevention of poisonous effects than she will be with promoting its power (which seems to be a theme among her predecessors).
I also prefer Deep Dark over Dark.
Speaking of which, why did you choose the letters J and R? Why not A and B?
This.
I, on the other hand, prefer "Deep" over "Deep Dark". Deep Dark makes me think of a fish in a children's book exploring the Deep Dark sea, where Deep still makes me think of deep underwater, but also makes me think that there might be a Deeper meaning to the gym or city. And there probably will be.
Deep, and Deep Dark sound so simple and childish that, to me, it sounds worse than some of the 5th Generation Badges. I mean, Trio Badge, Insect Badge, Volt Badge, come on. They could do better, and so can we. I don't like Celestial since it has almost nothing to do with darkness, or Aquapolis in general. Ethereal Badge sounds nice, and could have some meaning to it.
It seems simple, but when you take a look at it it makes a lot of sense, because it highlights both the attribute of the gym and the characteristics of the city it's based in.

I prefer the Deep Badge since it accurately represents Aquapolis, and I agree Deep Dark seems wrong, especially since the Dark-type would not like a "Dark" badge.
Well, I guess if the Majority is totally against me, or simply for the other idea, I can live with the Deep Badge. Deep Dark is still a no-no to me.
I left this long enough. It will be the Deep badge for Aquapolis.
Very little argument has been paid to the Venom side of the conversation for Gallea. PLEASE post your thoughts if you have not done so already.
Unless conversation takes off again, I'll assume that Elixir has swayed everybody and that will be made official.
I just have the feeling that too many people will associate Elixir with something that heals, and will be confused by the fact that it's on a poison-type gym.
Agreed with rp and IB. I've said many times before, and I'll say it again... simplicity is usually a better option. I will admit, the clever referencing around to the positive sides of poisons is great and all, but like IB said... I think many will be confused by this wrap-around association of poison and elixir. I remain on the side of Venom Badge.

Personally, Simplicity is fine and all, but I'd rather not have all the badges be that way. An even mix of both sides sounds better to me. That way, it's not all cookie cutter bland simple, while not being all 'OMG, do I have to google EVERYTHING?!'
This is why i prefer some of the more non-simple names.
Or instead of having it potentially confuse people, you could just have Bella refer to it herself in her pre-battle dialogue, in her 'what she's all about' portion (maybe something along the lines of "the most effective healing elixirs come from the deadliest venoms", if you want to keep it short). That way you don't have to go too simple, and people will still get it.

If it's explained (similarly to how Layla means "Night" in Arabic) then it will work out, but I'd prefer if we worked out the dialogue she would say first. This way, we can tell right away whether the explanation sounds forced or not, which such explanations can tend towards.
Something vaguely like:
Too long? Not too many people make it past the puzzle, so I suppose I should congratulate you for that. I hope you understand now just how powerful poison can be. I don't want to see this precious city consumed in smoke and grime as it industrializes, and it will always be my mission to find the perfect formula to stave off the suffocating smog. Each opponent I defeat gives me new ideas to try, so come at me with everything you have! Maybe you'll be this city's salvation...
I don't think the "Maybe you'll be this city's salvation..." is necessary, at least not for the intro speech. Intro speech is usually bragging, the praise for the hero comes after defeat.
That works too. It probably won't be exactly that when we get to writing those, but as long as its along the same lines.
Instead of doing another poll, please just vote in a post with justification (even if you've already stated your opinion recently).
Elixir. We have an opportunity to say a lot more about the gym and the leader, so we should take the opportunity instead of going with something rather predictable and forgettable.
Elixer. It has a deeper meaning. And it has an "X" in it.
Elixir. I have posted my multitude of reasons above. But if you don't feel like scrolling up/using your memory, I'll just say inventor's bias and leave it at that.

I'vealso stated my reasoning above. It's not too simple, yet not too complex, and just has a better ring to it, to me.
